2006 winner
The 2006 Davy medal was awarded by the Royal Society to
Professor Martin Pope for his
pioneering work in the field of molecular semiconductors which has
now become a large and important area of semiconductor science and
technology.

This medal is awarded annually for an
outstandingly important recent discovery in any branch of chemistry.
When first awarded in 1877, the medal was jointly awarded to Robert
Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhoff, for their researches and discoveries in
spectrum analysis.
