Professor Kallmann was
an eminent physicist, and
Founding Director of the Radiation and Solid State Laboratory (RSSL)
which I joined in 1956.. He invented the scintillation counter, and was
one of the few doctoral students of Max Planck. In view of my advanced industrial research experience as a
Technical Director, Prof. Kallmann provided me with free rein as a
Senior Research Scientist in 1956, and as a Research Associate Professor
in Physics in 1960, to develop and carry out my own research program in
the RSSL.He was co-author
with me in my publications describing my seminal discoveries (See ”
Seminal Discoveries”.
