Nicholas E. Geacintov

Prof. Geacintov is now the Chairman of the Chemistry Department, and an outstanding researcher in the chemistry and photophysics of DNA. In the early 1960’s, Prof. Geacintov joined my research group at the RSSL  as a Research Scientist, and carried out the major experiments in that period.  He played a major role in carrying out and interpreting the effect of a magnetic field on the fission of tetracene singlets into geminate pairs of triplet excitons.
