Prof. Dr. Bässler is a member of the Institute of Physical,
Nuclear and Macromolecular Chemistry at the Philipps University in
Marburg, Germany, and is a pioneer and major contributor totheory and experiment in the field of organic semiconductors,
both in molecular crystals and polymers. His seminal papers dealing with the role of disorder in polymeric
semiconductors provided a conceptual framework for accounting
consistently for the observed field and temperature-dependences of the
carrier mobility. Prof.Dr. Bässler was an important consultant in the
preparation of “Electronic Processes in Organic Crystals” and was a
critical reader of the entire manuscript of “Electronic Processes in
Organic Crystals and Polymers.”He
is a close friend of long standing.
