Prof. Dr. Agranovich is the Head of the Theoretical Department of
the Institute of Spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and is
one of the world’s greatest condensed matter theorists.
Prof. Agranovich has made seminal contributions to
the theory of excitons, is now bringing up-to-date his pioneering
book on excitons as a new
book entitled “Excitons
in Organic Crystals” to be published by Oxford University Press.
He is one of the founders of the
theory of polaritons , and has received prestigious awards from Russia,
France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
His theoretical contributions involving the interaction of
radiation and matter have influenced the entire
field.. Prof. Agranovich has been
an invaluable professional colleague.
